Restructuring at the Conference Office
On Tuesday, September 20, the Minnesota Conference Board of Trustees voted to restructure the staffing in the Conference office and create a new position as a result of the restructure. They also voted to fill those positions with existing staff. As such, we are pleased to announce the following changes:
|Dwayne Mauk has accepted the modified position of Vice President for Finance. Mauk has been working in the Minnesota Conference Treasury department since June, 2007. He started his career as a junior accountant for Dakota Adventist Academy, and worked in various finance-related roles from 1995-2005, when he accepted a call to work as the Assistant Treasurer for Christian Record Services. While there, he met his wife, Melisa. Shortly after they were married, Mauk accepted the call to come to Minnesota as the Assistant Treasurer, and they have grown to love the people here during the past nine years. His strong work ethic, financial knowledge, and ministry focus combined make for a strong leader in the finance department.|
Savannah Carlson has accepted the newly created position of Director of Human Resources and Director of Communication. Carlson has been working for theMinnesota Conference since January, 2016, as administrative assistant to the President and to the director of Gift Planning & Trust Services. Carlson holds two bachelor degrees in communications and business administration. Previously, she worked in human resources as the talent consultant for an Adventist hospital in North Carolina, and as the office manager/registrar for Atlanta North School in Georgia. Her attention to detail, excellent communication skills and belief in furthering the mission of the church will aid in her success in this new position.
|Rebekah Berlin, recently hired accountant, will be taking the role of Assistant Treasurer. A native Minnesotan, Berlin joined the Minnesota Conference team in June, 2016. She holds a bachelor degree in Christian business management, and after graduation in 2012, worked as an accountant for Ouachita Hills College in Arkansas. Berlin has a passion for showing Jesus to the world, specifically, through the business and finances of the church. She values integrity and organization, and strives for excellence in every responsibility.
Susan Inglish continues in her role as Administrative Assistant to Treasury and Human Resources, serving in this capacity since June, 2015. Inglish studied Medical Technology and Biology at Andrews University in Michigan and John Brown University in Arkansas, using the knowledge gained as a substitute teacher in public and Adventist schools, and as a teacher at Sunnydale Adventist Academy. Most recently, she worked as a merchandise and front end coordinator for HomeGoods. Inglish is married to Doug, the director of Gift Planning & Trust Services. She is meticulous, dependable, thoughtful and a pleasure to work with, and we are grateful for her continued dedication to the Minnesota Conference.
Carol Lyons, who has worked at the Minnesota Conference for approximately eight years, will also now be the Ministerial Spouses Association Director. She currently works as administrative assistant to Brian Mungandi, VP for Administration, and to José Torres, Youth and North Star Camp Director.
As the Church in Minnesota continues to grow and expand we hope to continue the mission of spreading the Gospel by keeping our EYES on Eternity.
We are pleased to announce that the constituency voted to re-elect Justin C. Lyons to be our Conference President and Brian K. Mungandi to be our Conference Vice Present for Administration. Each candidate was recommended for reelection by the Nominating Committee, and was voted into their position by a sweeping majority.
